Soldotna is considered to be the Hub of the Kenai Peninsula.
I know Homer residents depend on it to do big shopping and I know other small towns do too.
Soldotna is probably most famous for the infamous Kenai River boasting world class fishing.
Halibut Cove is a beautiful, secluded little hamlet across the bay from Homer just 6 miles.
There are a few hearty year around residents but many are seasonal residents. While there is no actual town there, there are some businesses there such as a restaurant, art galleries and lodging.
Homer is located at the End of the Kenai Peninsula road system. One of Homer's slogans is...
"Where the Land Ends, the Sea Begins"
A friendly little town with a lot for visitor's to do. Halibut fishing, boating, hiking, the "fishing hole", and so much more.
