Pre-Reserve Alaska Ferry
1The Alaska Marine Highway only offers confirmed
reservations up to 6 months in advance. So for those wishing to make future
reservations for Winter 2015/2016 or for the Summer 2016, you have to wait.
Here's what we offer as a solution to this dilemma. While we cannot confirm your
rates or scheduling, we do offer the follow service as a courtesy. You simply
complete our pre-reservation request form and....
- We keep watch for you for the opening date. (which is different each
year and is never known in advance)
- We will automatically set up your reservation upon opening for the best
chance of availability of car and cabin space.
- You will be emailed a Confirmation Hold and be able to review your
itinerary from the Alaska
- You will have 14 days after we set up your actual reservation, to submit
payment directly to the Alaska Marine Highway.

FERRY FARES to Increase for Summer 2015 (Print
a schedule of the new rates)
The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (ADOT&PF)
announced today that fares on the Alaska Marine Highway System (AMHS) will
increase 4.5 percent for travel beginning May 1, 2015. The new fare structure
will go into effect January 1, 2015. The rate increase will not affect
reservations made prior to the effective date. Some fares will not be affected
by the new tariff structure. Fares that are disproportionately higher than the
majority of AMHS fares will remain unchanged.

There’s no arguing that one of the
best ways to explore Alaska is by cruising the 1500 miles of
coastline know as "Alaska’s Inside Passage" — but not everyone wants
a traditional cruise. Consider traveling on the Alaska Marine
Highway, which offers a fleet of fast far‐ranging
ferries, each bearing the name of an Alaskan glacier. Giving you the
opportunity to vacation, with or without your car or RV, and even
the family pet is welcome. With all the scenic beauty of a
traditional small cruise ship, yet puts you in charge of your own
itinerary, you are free to stop and go as you chart your own course
through seven ports of call along the Inside Passage.
Why Take the Alaska Ferry?
Alaska presents one of the most scenic sections on
more coastline than the rest of the United States
combined, and more than half its coastal cities are unreachable by
conventional roads. On the Alaska Marine Highway the crews work
to provide safety and comfort without "Love Boat" frippery. The
ferries are clean and comfortable, with observation lounges, heated
solariums, a wide‐menu
selection in the restaurants and cafeterias. Unlike traditional
cruise ships the crews are all Alaskan residents and tipping is not
necessary. Some vessels have theater areas that show feature films
as well as documentaries about Alaska. Many ships have card rooms,
small video arcades, reading rooms and toddler play areas.
